TRIP DESCRIPTION:

Start out the summer of 2025 with Gals Abroad Getaways on a fabulous adventure to Athens and the Greek Isles. Alle & Brea will lead you on an unforgettable journey through Athens, Paros, and Santorini, and for those who choose to join, Milos!

ABOUT THE TOUR: 

Our 2025 Greece tour is for solo gals, sisters, BFFs, or any travel-loving, self-identifying woman who is looking to immerse themselves in Greek culture, cuisine, ancient sites, and is ready to soak up the last bits of summer and sunshine.

This intimate group trip will show you the magical sites of Athens & some of Greece’s most iconic island destinations in classic Gals Abroad Getaways style during one of the BEST times to visit Greece.

Having traveled to Greece six times now (including two other Gals Abroad Getaways trips) we’re pretty much locals at this point. On each visit, we commit to exploring a new part of this incredible destination, which is why we’ve added the optional extension of Milos after falling in love with it in 2023.

On each of our Getaways, we create a careful blend of planned activities with the group and free time to explore on your own. But don’t worry - we’ll give you lots of options and add-on tours to fill your time in Greece. As always, we are working with boutique, luxury properties while staying in each location.

OKAY BUT WHY May / June??

The end of May / top of June is one of the BEST times to travel to Greece because the weather is beautiful but not oppressively hot, the tourist crowds have not fully inundated the cities (YAY!!), the sea temperatures are starting to warm up, and the luxury hotel rates are within a reasonable range ;)

• TRIP LENGTH: 8 nights, 9 days in Athens, Paros & Santorini with an optional 3-night, 4-day Milos extension

• ACCOMMODATION: Double Occupancy (however a select number of single rooms are available upon request & at an additional cost)

• OPEN TO: Gal pals, sisters, cousins, BFFs, or solo gals (we will always help to pair solo gals with a roommate)

• SIZE: 10 travelers needed for the main trip to move forward. And 8 travelers needed for the extension to move forward.

UNIQUE GREEK CONSIDERATIONS

• You are comfortable with a small plane, ferry & boat rides - Our main method of getting from one island to the next will be via ferry (but don’t worry we’ll be in business class). That said, sometimes depending on the wind these rides could get a little bumpy and if you are prone to motion sickness, please keep this in mind.

• You are up for lots of walking (sometimes on uneven stairs & cobblestones) - Many of the main towns in Paros, Santorini and Milos have a lot of (uneven) stairs and are only accessible on foot. Keep this in mind and be sure to bring comfortable shoes (and maybe leave the heels at home lol)!

WHERE WE’RE STAYING:

ATHENS: NEW HOTEL

Creativity flows through every nook and cranny of Athens’ NEW Hotel.

The hotel is part of the YES! Hotels collection - a small group of boutique Greek hotels that offer a young, modern and creative aesthetic. One of our favorite design aspects of this hotel is the lobby’s 'favela' walls which were created by Brazilian designers by incorporating old vintage wood and furniture pieces recycled from the remnants of the previous hotel.

The hotel’s location is FANTASTIC - many of the major neighborhoods and top sights, are all within a 10 to 15-minute walk, including Plaka, Monastiraki & the Acropolis districts. Plus the rooftop bar & restaurant offers fantastic views of the city.

PAROS: COVE

We stayed here at on our last getaway and feel in love with Cove! This 5-star luxury seafront hotel is the perfect balance of style and comfort and its location couldn’t be any more perfect just a short walk away from Naousa Village Center. And wait till you see the breathtaking sunset views!

Each room features a private balcony or patio and is stylishly decorated with Cycladic whitewashed clean architectural elements blended with comfort, style and elegance.

With access to the resort’s beach, just steps away from your room + their award-winning Rada Restaurant, Cove is a true haven of tranquility and Cycladic beauty.

SANTORINI: VIEW HOTEL

Sophisticated simplicity, modern elegance, and discrete luxury are the secret ingredients of this new Santorini hotel. Fully renovated in 2020, View Hotel by Secret is an unsurpassed hotel in Santorini with coveted sunset views.

As the name suggests, the views from this hotel, especially at the swimming pool, are incredible. The rooms are spacious and modern and each has its own sea & sunset views.

Located in Foinikia, right next to Oia, View Hotel offers a secluded stay experience just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Oia.

Due to the boutique style of our accommodation, at two of our hotels, we will have limited access to twin beds.

At Cove, we have 4 standard rooms with twin beds & 2 upgraded rooms with twin beds. At Secret View, we have 6 rooms with twin beds. We fully understand that twin beds are a priority for some travelers, and will give twin beds (to those who want them) on a first-come first-serve basis. (We will let you know what type of bed you have on our call).

Milos: Breeze Boutique Hotel (Optional Extension)

Built on a cliff overlooking the incredible Cyclades and Aegean Sea, the Milos Breeze Boutique Hotel provides panoramic sunset views that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your room.

Known for its modern design and elegant decor, this hotel has a gorgeous pool, bar, and onsite restaurant. You can also treat yourself to a treatment at the onsite spa while you soak in the serene atmosphere.

Located in Pollonia, the hotel is a short walk to town for those wanting to explore or experience the nightlife of Milos.

We’ve created an itinerary that carefully balances the iconic sites, off-the-beaten-path experiences + free time in either the morning or afternoon for you to relax or add on additional activities (depending on how you’re feeling).

And while we know that you will want to get to know the other gals in the group, we also understand that you might want time to take it easy, relax by the pool or explore on your own. 

For example, if one morning we do an activity & lunch as a group, in the evening you’ll have the option to do your own thing OR join the gals for dinner and/or drinks (which I think you’ll definitely want to do at least some of the evenings).

We’ve created optional activities for those looking to soak up ALL that the destination has to offer, but we’ve also given you time to do as you please and not feel like the schedule has you going non-stop.

OPTIONAL MiloS EXTENSION:

When we visited Milos last year for the first time, we knew we had to add it to our next Greek Getaway. Travelers love Milos for its stunning natural beauty, diverse landscapes, and laid-back atmosphere. The island boasts dramatic volcanic rock formations, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and unique beaches like Sarakiniko, with its otherworldly white cliffs. Milos is also famous for its charming, traditional Cycladic architecture, quiet fishing villages, and a rich history, including the discovery of the Venus de Milo statue. We’ll explore the island on both land and sea with an island tour and boat ride.

Milos Extension highlights include:

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Cancellations need to be reviewed on an individualized basis as described within your mandatory travel insurance policy provisions (which Gals Abroad Getaways can assist you in purchasing). For any other cancellations, the Gals Abroad Getaways standard cancellation policy can be reviewed HERE. Any Gals who would like the option to cancel for any reason are advised to purchase additional travel insurance.

QUESTIONS?

• I want to have a room to myself, is that an option?

  • Absolutely. Keep in mind this is what is called a “single supplement”, you can find the additional cost of rooming by yourself in the pricing and inclusions section. If you have questions, please email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com

• None of my friends want to join on this trip, can I come solo?

  • YES OF COURSE! Please note this on your registration, and we will always work to pair you with a fellow solo traveler. If we cannot find you a roommate, you would have the option to join and pay a single supplement fee or opt to join us at a later date. • Can I come early or stay late or add on another destination?

  • Of course! When requesting to register we are taking a head count of all the gals who want to arrive early or stay late. • How much free time will we have?

  • Athens, Paros & Santorini: There is SO much to see & do in each of these destinations and we know you’ll probably want some time to adventure on your own. This itinerary has been carefully crafted to give you some downtime to explore on your own, relax at the hotel, or do whatever floats your boat. Athens will be the only destination where free time will be somewhat limited due to the fact that we have about 1.5 days here.

  • Milos: Because our time here is shorter and there’s SO much to see and do, this part of the trip will feel a bit more guided. That being said, 2 of the 3 nights you’ll be free to do your own thing or join an optional dinner reservation with the rest of the group.

• What is the activity level?

  • Athens, Paros & Santorini: we will be doing a fair amount of walking in Athens Acropolis tour (should be able to comfortably walk for about 3 hours and be good with walking up stairs). On Paros, our full-day boat tour will be relaxing and if you feel like swimming you are definitely encouraged to jump in the water. On Santorini one of the best things to do is walk around Oia. That being said Oia is notorious for its stairs…The town is literally built into a cliff after all...This is a destination where you will want to be comfortable walking up and down stairs, A LOT. On most days we will have private transportation to take us to and from activities & meals but some days we will walk. One of my absolute favorite things to do on any island in Greece is wander the small villages and stumble upon shops and restaurants. You will absolutely want to pack your walking shoes ;)

  • Milos: This portion of the trip is certainly very relaxation-focused. Probably the only strenuous activity will be if you choose to walk to town or explore on your own. Our island tour will be by car, not a walking tour.

• Is there an age requirement/limit for this trip?

  • You must be 21 years of age or older to join any Gals Abroad Getaway. While we do not have an age limit we do suggest that anyone joining this trip be comfortable with walking for up to 3 hours (when we do our guided tours).

• What should I pack?

  • Don’t you worry, we will send out a packing list well in advance to those attending so that you have PLENTY of time to shop and plan so you can feel your most fabulous self once you arrive.

• How can I get to know the other gals on this trip?

  • Prior to this trip, we will be sending out a Gals Abroad Getaways “Get to Know the Gals” document + some exciting virtual, IRL opportunities to get to know one another before the trip kicks off.

• Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

  • Yes, everyone will be required to purchase travel insurance for this trip. In order for pre-existing conditions to be covered, this insurance must be purchased no later than 7 days from the date of initial deposit. When you are confirmed for the trip, we will follow up with insurance options and costs. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for your trip costs if your plans change for unforeseeable reasons or if you need medical help/emergency transport or experience theft, loss or damage of items while traveling. 

• Is there a minimum number of participants required to run the trip?

  • Yes. We require a minimum of 10 travelers to run the main portion of the trip and 8 travelers to run the Milos extension. If we do not meet the minimum, the per-person cost is subject to increase by a nominal amount. If this occurs, we will reach out to each traveler to inform them of the additional cost.

• What happens if the tour is postponed?

  • If this trip needs to be canceled for any COVID-19 reasons, we will reschedule this itinerary to a future date.

• Is there a waiting list?

  • There will be a waiting list that will run on a first-come, first-serve basis in the event of a space opening up. If this particular trip is full, and you’re still interested in coming, please send an email to galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com to be added to the waiting list
