TRIP DESCRIPTION:
Close out summer 2025 on a journey through Ireland's storied landscapes and vibrant cities with Gals Abroad Getaways.
From the historic streets of Dublin to the majestic Cliffs of Moher and the regal Ashford Castle, this trip offers an enchanting blend of cultural heritage and breathtaking nature. For those looking to extend your adventure, we’re offering a “pre-trip” to Northern Ireland, where Belfast’s dynamic culture and the awe-inspiring Giant’s Causeway offer unforgettable experiences.
PS - we scheduled this trip over LDW so you can maximize your PTO days!
Dublin - 3 nights
Dublin is like stepping into a city where history and modern culture blend seamlessly. The lively streets are lined with charming Georgian buildings, vibrant pubs, and picturesque parks, making it the perfect place to kick off our Irish Getaway!
We’ve strategically selected a hotel that looks out on St. Stephen’s Green & is a 2 minute walk from the main shopping streets.
Whether you're walking along the River Liffey or exploring the cobbled streets of Temple Bar, Dublin's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, offering something for every type of travel Gal.
Killarney - 3 nights
Nestled in the heart of County Kerry, Killarney blends natural beauty with quintessential Irish charm. Its lively center is full of traditional pubs where live music is always playing, cozy cafes, & boutique shops. Beyond the city, Killarney serves as the gateway to breathtaking adventures between the stunning Killarney National Park and the towering Macgillycuddy's Reeks.
On our Getaway you’ll enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at the Woolen Mills combined with a visit to a traditional cottage & farm, where we’ll savor the flavors of homemade Irish treats. We'll also take in the iconic Cliffs of Moher and enjoy the scenic vistas of the Ring of Kerry, ensuring your time in Killarney is unforgettable.
Ashford Castle - 2 nights
Experience regal luxury at Ashford Castle, the crown jewel of Irish castle stays & the former estate of the Guinness family, nestled in the heart of County Mayo. This storied castle, which dates back to 1228, has been named Ireland's best spa for eight consecutive years and secured the fourth spot in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Resorts in Europe in 2024. As our grand finale, you'll have a full day to immerse yourself in the castle’s legendary hospitality and array of activities. Whether you choose to partake in falconry, a serene boat ride across the lake, or indulge in a world-class spa experience, this will undoubtedly be the highlight of our Irish adventure.
Northern Ireland - 3-night optional pre-trip
Before we kick off the main part of our Ireland Getaway, we are offering a pre-trip to Northern Ireland. This optional extension provides an essential backdrop to the region's rich history and culture. Belfast, the birthplace of the Titanic, is a city marked deeply by its industrial legacy and the poignant history of the 'Troubles.' Our journey includes a Black Taxi tour for a personal look at the historical murals and neighborhoods shaped by this era. Additionally, we'll venture to the stunning Giant's Causeway, a natural wonder steeped in myth and folklore, as well as a popular Game of Thrones filming location. This Northern Ireland visit is perfect for those who want to arrive early and want to dive deeper into the history that has shaped this vibrant area and Ireland itself.

ABOUT THE TOUR:
Our 2025 Ireland tour is designed for women who crave adventure, connection, and cultural immersion. Whether you're joining us as a solo traveler, coming with a family member, or planning to bring your bestie, this journey invites you to dive into the heart of Irish culture, cuisine, and historical sites. It's an ideal escape for anyone eager to explore the lush landscapes and vibrant life of Ireland, coupled with the camaraderie of like-minded women you can expect on any Gals Abroad Getaway.
In December, Linda and I scoped out the best spots—hotels, restaurants, and cities across Ireland to make sure we were only including our favorites on this trip. Our getaways are designed with the perfect mix of fun group activities and plenty of downtime for you to explore each destination on your own. And, of course, we’ve lined up some fabulous optional tours to keep you entertained. We always opt for boutique, luxurious properties over big-brand hotels.
OKAY BUT WHY VISIT THIS TIME OF YEAR??
Traveling to Ireland in late August and early September is a delight. The weather is comfortably mild, typically hovering in the high 50 and mid 60s, and the longer days provide an average of 12.5 hours of sunlight—perfect for making the most of your days. It’s also moving into shoulder season, so you’ll enjoy fewer crowds and more intimate experiences. Plus, for our Gals coming from the US, we’ve positioned this trip to fall over Labor Day weekend so you can take advantage of having to request one less PTO day.

WHO THIS TRIP IS FOR:
Our Gals Abroad Getaways have been carefully crafted for independent women, seeking a blend of immersive cultural experiences, meaningful connections, and fabulous accommodations in some of the most dazzling destinations around the world. Above all else, we value kindness, inclusion and respect (for our fellow travelers & for the destination we are guests in).
Read the descriptions below carefully to determine if this trip sounds like it would be a fit for you:
YOU ALWAYS PACK AN OPEN MIND - You are eager to fully immerse yourself in a new destination no matter how different it may be from your day-to-day life & home country
YOU LEAD WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT - We expect our gals to support an atmosphere of mutual respect and inclusion. You strive to always stay positive and prefer to look at life with a glass-half-full mindset
FLEXIBILITY IS YOUR MIDDLE NAME - You understand that travel, no matter how perfectly planned and curated, comes with its own set of hiccups and are ready to roll with the punches
YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE DESTINATION PRIOR TO TRAVEL - we believe that a bit of preparation and understanding of the destination you are visiting will make any trip 10x more meaningful and help set realistic expectations for the country you’re about to visit
YOU’RE EXCITED TO MAKE SOME NEW GAL PALS - whether you’re joining us solo or coming with a gal pal, you’re ready to mix and mingle and make new travel-loving friends on this journey
YOU LIKE A BIT OF GUIDANCE BUT DO NOT NEED HAND HOLDING - We pride ourselves on maintaining a high level of customer service from the minute we launch a new trip to the time you return home. That said we empower our gals to be self-sufficient & lean into their adventurous side. Where possible, we will provide some free time so you have the flexibility to explore the city or kick back and relax because we understand that everyone has a different travel style. But we will ALWAYS be there to assist with suggestions & recommendations.
UNIQUE IRELAND CONSIDERATIONS
You’re prepared to experience four seasons in one day - Ireland has a mild, temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters. But their weather likes to keep you guessing no matter what season you visit in. On our trip, you'll probably experience a little of everything. Rain clouds will clear to reveal blue skies. Freezing mornings will warm to become glorious afternoons. Sometimes, the weather can disrupt the best-laid plans. Joining this trip will require you to be flexible. Pack for all seasons. And have a go-with-the-flow mindset.
You are comfortable with car rides on small, winding roads - Our main method of getting from one location to the next will be driving. While we will have expert drivers to chauffer us, the roads can be smaller and winding so if you are prone to motion sickness, please keep this in mind.
You are up for lots of walking (sometimes on uneven stairs & cobblestones) - Many of the main towns we’ll visit have a lot of (uneven) stairs and are only accessible on foot. Keep this in mind and be sure to bring comfortable shoes (and maybe leave the heels at home lol)!
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ABOVE-MENTIONED CONSIDERATIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHOOT US AN EMAIL: galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com

Any Gals who would like the option to cancel for any reason are advised to purchase additional travel insurance.
QUESTIONS?
I want to have a room to myself, is that an option?
Absolutely. Keep in mind this is what is called a “single supplement”, you can find the additional cost of rooming by yourself in the pricing and inclusions section. If you have questions, please email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com
None of my friends want to join on this trip, can I come solo?
YES OF COURSE! Please note this on your registration, and we will always work to pair you with a fellow solo traveler. If we cannot find you a roommate, you would have the option to join and pay a single supplement fee or opt to join us at a later date. However, we will never take your deposit without first letting you know where you stand with a roommate. Email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com if you have any questions!
Can I come early or stay late or add on another destination?
Of course! As always, we’re more than happy to assist with booking hotels & activities for any Gals arriving early or extending their stay. Have more questions - shoot us an email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com
How much free time will we have?
There is SO much to see & do in each of these destinations and we know you’ll probably want some time to adventure on your own. This itinerary has been carefully crafted to give you some downtime to explore on your own, relax at the hotel, or do whatever floats your boat. The itinerary listed above is all of our included activities with the package price - but we’ll send you add-on activities and tours as we get closer to our departure date to customize your experience and fill your getaway with as much (or as little) planned activities as you’d like!
What is the activity level?
While we will have private transportation to take us to some activities and meals, we will be doing a fair amount of walking in Dublin and Killarney (should be able to comfortably walk for about 4 hours and be good with walking up stairs). Like many countries in Europe, the sidewalks and streets can be uneven or cobblestone, so make sure you are comfortable walking on uneven surfaces and always bring good shoes for these conditions. The Cliffs of Moher will require walking in grass and slightly hilly terrain. For our nights at Ashford Castle, we will mostly be relaxing at the hotel’s estate and participating in activities onsite.
Is there an age requirement/limit for this trip?
You must be 21 years of age or older to join any Gals Abroad Getaway. While we do not have an age limit we do suggest that anyone joining this trip be comfortable with walking for up to 4 hours (when we do our guided tours).
What should I pack?
Don’t you worry, we will send out a packing list well in advance to those attending so that you have PLENTY of time to shop and plan so you can feel your most fabulous self once you arrive.
How can I get to know the other gals on this trip?
Prior to this trip, we will be sending out a Gals Abroad Getaways “Get to Know the Gals” document + some exciting virtual, IRL opportunities to get to know one another before the trip kicks off.
Do I need to purchase travel insurance?
Yes, everyone will be required to purchase travel insurance for this trip. In order for pre-existing conditions to be covered, this insurance must be purchased no later than 7 days from the date of initial deposit. When you are confirmed for the trip, we will follow up with insurance options and costs. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for your trip costs if your plans change for unforeseeable reasons or if you need medical help/emergency transport or experience theft, loss or damage of items while traveling.
Is there a minimum number of participants required to run the trip?
Yes. We require a minimum of 10 travelers to run the main portion of the trip and 6 travelers to run the Belfast extension. If we do not meet the minimum, the per-person cost is subject to increase by a nominal amount. If this occurs, we will reach out to each traveler to inform them of the additional cost.
What happens if the tour is postponed?
If this trip needs to be canceled for any COVID-19 reasons, we will reschedule this itinerary to a future date.
Is there a waiting list?
There will be a waiting list that will run on a first-come, first-serve basis in the event of a space opening up. If this particular trip is full, and you’re still interested in coming, please send an email to galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com to be added to the waiting list
Still, have questions? No worries!
Send us an email galsabroadgetaways@gmail.com and we’d be more than happy to help!
