No matter how early I work on my annual gift guide I always feel incredibly behind…but maybe that’s because we are used to seeing Christmas trees in Target the day after Halloween lol.
If you’re new here (WELCOME) this list is my version of Oprah’s Favorite Things. Around here, we like to call it Alle’s A-List. So as not to overwhelm you (I know that gift guides can be a lot), I like to put together one GIANT gift guide jam-packed with all of my tried and true favorite things that would make for the perfect gift for all the Gals in your life (and of course YOU too).
I’ve organized this list by who you’d be shopping for. You’ll find everything from ideas for the travel Gal Pal in your life to your Bougie Bestie and just about everyone in between. You’ll see quite a few repeats year after year, because there are certain staple gifts that never get old. But you’ll also find plenty of new inspo sprinkled throughout. PLUS you’ll find discount codes throughout the guide to make sure to keep an eye out for those!
It has always been my intention to include not only my favorite things but also recommendations at all price points from small, women, POC, and LGTBQ-owned businesses. IDK about you but I tried to jump on the polaroid camera bandwagon when they came back around but they kept breaking or I was never happy with the photos I took. This is the perfect solution. I’ve had this backpack for 4 years now and I really can’t say enough good things about it. My love affair with this woman-owned boutique goes wayyyy back and it’s easily my favorite place to shop in Chicago. Plus the owner Ali Reff has become a friend and she’s just as wonderful as her boutique is. This is the spot to find fun, feminine, & cheeky gifts that are for the most part under $100. Make sure to check out their Mad Hatter & Chicago collections which are made in-house (great gifts for guys & little ones).
Lost Girls Vintage
Find me a more fun, colorful & totally bad ass store…I’ll wait…LOL. Lost Girls is hands down the #1 place I shop for vintage items in Chicago. Outside of their vintage goodies, you’ll also find jewelry & accessories crafted by local artists & a plus size vintage line, Luvsick, that carries sizes 14-26. The shop was founded by two bad a$$ women and at the beginning run out of a winnebago LOL.
Vo Jewelry
I discovered this amazing brand when my bestie gifted me custom bracelets for my birthday & as the recipient, I can confirm this is one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve received.
Chicago-based designer, Amy Vorel, is known for her gold-filled custom necklaces and bracelets. Her signature line, Vo, is for the effortless, everyday city girl (and guy!) who aspires to live a life of style and creativity.
NOMAD Chicago
This woman founded, globally inspired shop is one of my favorite places to one of a kind, handmade goodies from around the world. What makes NOMAD so unique is its commitment to selling fair trade items in small batches at prices that are fair to the artists who craft these pieces. You’ll find everything from natural beauty products to Chicago neighborhood scented candles (yup that’s a thing). Plus next to each of the items you’ll find a card that shares more about where the product is from and the person who made it. OOOO and NOMAD also has a cafe and meeting space so you can sip some coffee while you shop!
Chicago French Press
If you have a coffee lover in your life, trust me, you need to get them some CFP! This woman, Black-owned business sells freshly roasted coffee in the most unique and delicious flavors like Chocolate Blueberry and Maple Pecan. CFP offers coffee for different brewing methods and you can also check out their subscriptions - which I think would make an awesome gift!
Foursided Chicago
Hands down the most aesthetically pleasing gift shop I have ever stepped foot in. This store is literally overflowing with art, antiques, curated gifts and also specializes in custom framing. If you’re looking for a one stop shop to check everyone off your list, THIS IS THE PLACE. Foursided has 4 shops (2 gift & 2 custom framing) located across the north side of Chicago but you can also check them out online!

I’ve had my eyes on these colored wine glasses for years and I love how you can mix and match colors & glass styles.
The company describes their pieces as “jewels for your table,” and was inspired by the founder’s grandmother, Estelle, who loved antiquing.
Olive Oil from Puglia Italy
When I was in Puglia earlier this year, one of my friends who is a famous cheesemaker told me about this olive oil that he carries in his shop. He’s a perfectionist so if this olive oil is approved by him, you can expect it to be top-notch. This would be such a great hostess gift because honestly, you can never have enough QUALITY (that’s the key) EVOO.
